Nudey Books
That was what we called them when I was kid. When we were in junior school about 5 of us used to around a mates house at lunch time look at his dads nudey books . Then we would rock on to Becontree and Sammys slaughter house (A barbers with and army barber) and have a laugh looking at the condoms

There used to be a bookshop called Lovejoy's on the corner of Charing Cross Rd and Old Compton St, with an adult section downstairs.. That used to be the place to browse through all the latest porn mags.

For a period at junior school I would take in yesterday’s page 3 and charge 1p for a look with me holding it and 2p if the client held it.

When I was at university, I worked one summer as a park ranger. This involved patrolling (= strolling happily through) two fairly large parks in north London. The number of discarded girlie mags just lying in ditches was astonishing.

Also found loads of fruit growing wild and just out of sight. Strawberries, raspberries, plums, apples, pears, blackberries. No cherries, though.

My mates ex husband used to run the Upton lane shop, making sure no one left empty handed sounds like something he would do.

Dirty Davey was his nickname.

Back in the mid 90's we were having our house extended, I was 13 at the time and would explore the building site at the weekends. I remember finding a nude mag and looking through it wide eyed.

Ah the old Razzle Dazzle, remember coming out of Reggies news with a copy and bumping into this short arsed twit who tried to wrestle it off me, reckons he owned it, let him have it in the end, but he got all shirty when he realised the pages were stuck together, muttered something about the Krays.

Anyone remember 'Fiesta'?

My mate somehow got hold of a copy when we were about 11 or so. The centre page spread was a very very dark skinned woman and it was striking to me just how pink her fanny was,it seemed to stand out more than it did on white birds.

An image that has never really left me,can still see it now.

Cheese there's a picture of the fat dwarf outside that shop taken in the late 70s/early 80s.

Re: Nudey Books
I actually went in that shop once when I was about 20. The meathead who ran the place wouldn't let me leave without buying something, and as I was paying by cheque, it had to be at least £10 worth. So I left with a shrink wrapped bundle of mags.
I don't know if Sullivan owned those shops, but the MO seems right.

Those videos were £29.99 by the way, a huge chunk of change back then. Just send your cheque or postal order to 34 Upton Lane, London E7.

Dirty books we called em.
Used to find em over the debris’s and when we went fishing down the canal or over the docks/island. (in the 70s).
(As NS said, was full of big hairy muffs, a bit like the millwall team at the time!)

...this magazine.

That cunt has made picking your pocket an art form and it's interesting (for me anyway) to see how he's transposed that way of thinking (basically making a bundle of promises that he has no intention of delivering) onto owning the football club that I love.
